intar days are finally over...nyahahaha! no more toxic papers, or quizzes, or exams.

naiinis ako kasi wala man lang closure for our part...walang graduation? o kaya kahit na anong nagsasabing nakumpleto na natin ang 2 years ng premedical studies apt for med proper.

nevertheless, the thought of not thinking about anything academic is just so satisfying. denggg...:P

quoting val, this year has been a good one for intarmed.

:) first was the ladymed. francis was really pretty. hmph. if it weren't for the flying sexy lady thingie that 2008 did, we could have won. haha.

then there was SINOSISANS. :) with all the exams and lack of time to practice (the first real run-through was the matinee!) we did very well. until now i am hoping that we'll have a repeat performance or something. i still have the pompoms and my headgear. :p

and yesterday was the mediScene. :p omga who would have thought we'd win???? honestly, i wasn't expecting that we'll win, especially since we only had a few days to prepare for it. the other classes had real props and costumes and music, which i thought we lacked. the feeling hasn't sink in yet. :p maybe one of these days you'll see me smiling like a weirdo when i finally realize that we actually won. first place. against 2009 and 2011.

First Week

I think that, on the whole, the first week of this new semester turned out all right. I hope the teachers we haven't yet met will be normal.

I should apologize for not updating the links area. There are now more people from our class that have discovered the joys of blogging. The newest addition (not many know this yet, I think) is Reci. :) I'll make sure to update the links this weekend.

tomorrow, val, monette, aidz, maan, ants, abe and me are going to EK! hehe, what supposedly was a class outing in Batangas came out as a regular gimmik of 7 out of 40. hahaha! Sana masaya! I bet it will be. :p

yey!look no one's posting!this blog is so dead!its just so...unblogeramous geesh!actualy i was tempted to post here before but i was scared id get carried away ranting and ranting coz that's practically how i spend most of my energy...30% expanding and compressing my lungs, 70% whining. can't there be a job like that? like an official whiner? but right now schools over so there's nothing to whine about anymore.i know ill just whine about my face...my face is so round boohooohooo!waaAAaaaAAaAA!!!and its not like the tummy you can exercise it.this one no its like there forever unless you stop eating and wait for your entire body including your boobs to shrink first.fart.ahahaha galing ko magwhine noh?

it's been a while since nakapag post ako ng entry for our blog. haaaay... grabe, i'm on the verge of breaking down. 6 data sheets, a practical exam on friday in physics lab, a final in exam in hum1 that's really difficult (take home kasi eh), an exam in physio lab, a quiz in physio lec and another dep in chem all in one week! exaaaaaajjjjj!

It's been such a long time since anyone besides Reci has been posting. That doesn't mean, however, that no one has anything to rant about. Quite the opposite actually. This sem started rolling and it's been a hell of a ride since then. People aren't writing because they're too busy to even complain.

Organic Chemistry

Tomorrow, the organic chem departmental exam results will be released and I'm dreading it. I think I flunked that one. But the worst part of it all is that I think I just ruined all my chances of being exempted from the finals. Argh! I hate chem! Why can't we all just study the humanities and communication or even biology forever? That will be really nice. But no, we have to take a million (okay, okay... I'm exaggerating) units of chemistry. See, what I really don't like about chem is that it is purely theoretical. Plus, they will make a rule and then make another one that totally contradicts the existing one. What the heck is the Markovnikov - Antimarkovnikov thing all about? Why even bother making a rule which has very many exemptions (Think:octet rule)? We don't even know if this compound really abstracts the protons of this another compound so why do we have to bother ourselves with chemistry too much? I asked our professor once what will they do if laboratory results contradict those of theory and all she said was "we try to make (and yes people, that means invent) explanations on why such happened even if it involves twisting the principles a little bit." Duh.

waiting is fun. really.

not. waiting for nonexistent teachers is annoying and tiring and exposes one to the unhygienic surroundings of the AS corridors (where one is lucky to find a bench to sit on). a while ago i formulated a proposal that i think will work for everyone. why not add one allowable absence to every student for every unannounced absence of a teacher? for example, if a teacher goes AWOL 3 times in the semester, the maximum number of absences per student will be increased from say 7 to 10. think about it. it's the perfect way to discourage a teacher from not showing up, because he knows that if he keeps on doing it, it will eventually come to a point when he comes to class and there's no one there - everyone's away doing something else. and this would be the ultimate humiliation. i'm not saying a teacher can't go on being irresponsible. he can simply report to class on time, say something pseudo-useful, and dismiss the class early. perfect solution. no waiting, no irritation, and everyone's happy.

it's highly unlikely that this is ever going to happen. but people should open their eyes and at least consider the possibility. think outside the box.

I don't know if it's just me, but I was really pissed off during Zoology lab today. First, the stupid quiz. I got exactly one correct answer on the taxonomy portion. It seems to me she's going out of her way to make the questions hard for us. (what normal person can identify the order of a friggin necturus? i don't even know what that stupid animal is) And then I was made monitor, which was just perfect because it brought me into intimate contact with a monitor lizard's decomposing skin and worse, the smelly dogfish - and we're supposed to know what its skin is called - like i'll remember that.

Despite that B.S., I'm still feeling positive about tomorrow. Chemistry class is way better this semester, and I'm feeling the positive vibes. Percy, watch out - I'm making good on my promise. (haha, j/k)

Kay tagal na panahong walang nagpopost dito. Dahil ba sa wala pang masyadong mga eksamin at dahil dun ay wala pang dapat na ireklamo sa buhay? Wahehehe... Wala lang, nalulumbay lang talaga ako dahil medyo natigang ang ating blog kaya eto ako at nagpopost.

Hindi ba't kay saya ng ating ikalawang taon (so far) sa imed? Hindi ba kayo naliligayahan sa dami ng ating mga natutunan? Hindi ba't kay sarap isipin na anim na taon na lamang ay mga doktor na tayo?

removals

i didn't go home this weekend because sir sumalapao didn't go to school last friday and i didn't see my class standing in math. i was anticipating that i'd take the removals which is scheduled today, 1300-1600. i only started reviewing last night... i went to school 1100 this morning to check if i really have to take the removals... still no signs of sir sumalapao so i sat on some bench to study. i waited and crammed until around 1300. when i went back to the DPSM, shula said that sir sumalapao won't go to school today, and only those who got 4 in math101 during the second sem are to take the removals scheduled today. i felt somewhat relieved, but disappointed as well because i slept late just to recall the past lessons... i still have no idea when we're going home to laguna. i miss my room.

summer ends, rain begins to fall

At last! we're done with our research paper! We worked on it for the whole day yesterday, whole night last night and even this early morning. We finished doing it around 5am. To think, Lyle has his flight to davao scheduled at 11am! Thank God the lady who owns the computer shop where we worked is cooperative. You see, they're only open up to 3am but due to our insistent demands she waited until we were done before she closed the shop. We managed to produce a sixteen-page report. [Mere - exag! your report is 39 pages long???]

Anyway, i'm writing to rant about the weather. It's so hard to go to school without getting yourself soaked and dripping with rainwater these days. Argh! This signals the end of the wonderful summer weather and the start of the very annoying rainy season. It's not like I hate the rain, it's just that I hate the things that come along with it. There're the floods, we have to always bring an umbrella or jacket, it's hard to keep yourself dry and comfortable, among other things.

But nonetheless i'm happy because we can now unwind and get some rest to recharge our brain cells before the very tedious semester that awaits us all.

I too am happy that we all got 1.0's in PI 100. At least we have something to compensate for our no-so-good performances in in Math101.
I am hoping that i do not have to take a removal exam.

woohoo!!! free at last from the tormenting bondage of summer classes!!! :)

i really feel weird right now. i haven't got much sleep. i turned off the lights at around 3:15 am and woke up at 4:00 am to work on our research paper which is due today. how utterly fun! a single day to work on a 39-page paper.

dianne went here yesterday and we fixed the results and discussion part. it was already past 1:00 pm when we realized that we haven't eaten lunch yet (and i haven't eaten breakfast, too). we called sinangag express to have our meals delivered. the guy on the phone was quite funny. he asked me "ROM namberrr po?" for a moment i thought he said "WRONG number po" after getting our orders and asking for the address and stuff. oh, "ROOM number" pala un. hehe. :)

back to the research paper... i worked on it from 7:00 pm until 8:00 am with a 45-minute nap. it's tedious work, especially because i don't have ms office 2000 installed right now plus a number of technical difficulties with this computer. i had to use corel wordperfect 8 which, unfortunately, does not fully comprehend what "double spacing" means so i had to copy and paste over and over from wordpad or notepad to set things right. oh well, it's over and done... and that's the best part of it!

i'm so happy! sir esguerra gave all of us a grade of 1.0 in PI 100! so great! i hope i get a grade of at least 3.0 in math 101. i don't want to take the removals exam. no...

woohoo again!!! time to rest and recharge for yet another harrowing semester... :)

To Gerald and Meredith: I've added you as admins. :) Please help me do something about the Status Bar Message board. I want to move it somewhere in the body to make use of the extra space and to make it more easily seen... but I don't know how.

Summer class is almost done. I'm not too happy with the results, but if things go reasonably well I'll be able to spend at least ten days at home relaxing and having fun before the next semester begins. And then it will be the thought of being able to go back home again by October that will keep me going. I think it will always be like this for me. I know, though, that when the next summer comes and then goes, it will take a big part of me with it.

Because then it will be crunch time. And I will work my ass off becoming a hell of a good doctor. And I will, hopefully, become fulfilled and happy. That's the plan, anyway. I hope I can make it work.

Happy Birthday Gideon!

Um, everyone, I think that despite all our 'sufferings', we still have a lot to be thankful for. Like the fact that we're in school. And that we more or less have already secured our futures. And that we have each other.

I know that with determination and a positive outlook on things, we'll be able to get through this. And I know that though we complain a lot (myself included) about most things, we are all aware that this is true. Go IMED 2010. We can move mountains.

i am flunking that test. :p i think i'm going to take the removals for math this sem. maybe it's pride, but i am not comfortable (it's not like i haven't tried this before) with reviewing the past exams in order to get a good score. or maybe it just doesn't work for me (i am not any good at memorizing answers). i think it is important to understand the lessons. not because the lessons per se have any significance in our daily lives but because in the process we learn more important things (discipline, perseverance, etc.).

besides, wouldn't it be more fulfilling if you passed and you worked hard for it? :)

So I checked the blog settings and found that we now have 10 members, which is one-fourth of the class. That's good, but we need more people here! I know not everyone in the class is online but it would be nice to get the number up to more than half. And to those who've already registered but kept silent: start posting! People, you have no excuse after tomorrow's prefinals not to go back online. We have around one test-free week ahead after that.

I don't even want to talk about today's lab midterms. Suffice to say: pure bullcrap.

Thanks, everyone, for responding so quickly. My turn to rant. I used to think summer class would be a cinch - given that we're only taking two subjects. Big mistake. As I'm sure all of us have realized by now, it seems as if summer is turning out more difficult than the regular term. Partly, I think, is that all of us still have vacation hangovers. But mostly, what makes summer class so crappy is that:

1. We have to come to class every day and take up so many topics every lecture which makes it (gasp) necessary to actually study each day. This is something I didn't forsee.

2. Our subjects aren't very student-friendly - on the one hand, an unpredictable grading system, and on the other, a lethal combination of math and memory.

On my part, it's the thought of going back home before the start of the next semester that keeps me going. Even if it'll only be a couple of weeks.

P.I. field trip later. I can hardly wait (uhh... not).

huwaw!!!! bago na naman 'to ah! mayroon na namang bagong mapagbubuhusan ng panahon (at pagrereklamo sa kahabag-habag kong kalagayan)...

First up! Siyempre ano pa nga ba kundi ang napakasayang Math101... Ewan ko ba, is it just me o talagang napakahirap ng mga pinag-aaralan sa subject na ito? Ang dami-daming mga pdf na itinuturo wala naman akong maintindihan. May mga hypergeometric, binomial, poisson, etc pa silang nalalaman.. Baka naman nakakalimutan nila ang ang Math101 ay "ELEMENTARY" STATISTICS.. Hmm.. At siyempre pa, ang lab na sobrang daming mga requirements. I used to love math, but now...Thank God huling Math na natin 'to.

Well, yun lang muna. Good job Lyle for starting this up!

yeah i know the feeling. I know, I am guilty of that (screaming oh-so-loudly) sumtimes. Pero yung mga times na yun, yun yung mga di ko tlga maiwasan kasi suuper excited ako or supper shocked. And I know may mga tao tlgang di maiiwasan e. At feeling ko sakit yan ng lahat ng tao...na kapag may gusto kang sabihin na feeling mo suuuper important, pero madaming taong nagsasalita, kelangan mong sumigaw on top of your lungs para madeliver mo yung ssbihin mo ng clear...e kapag may gustong magdadag sa sinabi mo, edi sisigaw din siya...tas magsisigawan na kayong lahat...gets...hehehehehe. gnyan tlga.

i know i'm being mean (again), but could some people refrain from SCREAMING just way too loudly?! there are certain instances when all the screaming seems necessary but i can only tolerate so much.

am i the only one who's being sensitive about this? oversensitive maybe? but isn't it just so frustrating when someone screams and you just feel your eardrums popping only to find out that he/she was screaming because of something totally irrelevant to your existence?

i'm just asking for some consideration on your part. i might not be the only one feeling this way. or maybe the others are just apathetic about things like these.
